We are from here
I grew up in Midland, and I am raising my own family here now. My children go to school in this town. The people I buy from are people I might see at a ballgame or in line at the grocery store, and that shapes how this company behaves.
Most mineral owners in the Permian get letters from firms in New York or Dallas. Those buyers have never seen the acreage, will never meet the family selling it, and if they push someone into a bad deal they simply never hear about it. That distance is the whole reason the business has the reputation it does.
We do not have that distance, and we would not want it. Midland is not a market to us — it is where we live. That is worth more to this company than any single transaction, and it is the reason we will tell an owner not to sell when holding is the better decision for them.
How we work
Old Midland Resources buys mineral and royalty interests directly. There is no broker between us and no commission taken out of your proceeds, and we are not assembling a package to flip to someone else during your closing.
We are in Midland because that is where the assets are. Being here means we can look at a tract in the context of what is happening around it rather than treating every interest as a line in a spreadsheet.
How we deal with owners
- Our offers are written and plainly stated. You will know what we are buying and what we are paying.
- No deadline pressure. Offers do not expire in 48 hours, and we will not call repeatedly.
- We will tell you not to sell when we think holding is the better decision for you.
- We pay the costs of closing — deed, recording, notary — rather than netting them out of your proceeds.
A note on unsolicited offers. If you received a letter or email from us, it is because public county records show you own an interest we would consider buying. You are under no obligation to respond, and we will not contact you again if you tell us not to.
